Meet Our Providers

Wronetta Charles Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse practitioner.

As a dedicated and compassionate nurse practitioner, I am committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services that address both the mental and physical well-being of individuals across the lifespan. With a background in nursing and a specialization in psychiatric care, I bring a unique blend of expertise to my practice.

Education and Credentials:

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Southern University and A & M College, which laid the foundation for my nursing career. Building upon this foundation, I pursued an advanced degree, earning a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus in nursing education in 2004.  In 2005, I received a Post Master’s certificate with a specialization Family Nurse Practitioner from Southern University.  In 2013, I continued my commitment to health care by obtaining my Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.  In my continued efforts to advancing in health care, I received another Post Master’s Certificate, in 2017, with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Southeastern LA University. I am double board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and maintain an active license to practice as a nurse practitioner.

Clinical Experience:

With 24 years of experience in clinical settings, I have honed my skills in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment for my patients, fostering open communication and trust. Additionally, I have a strong background in family medicine, allowing me to provide holistic care that considers both the individual and their family dynamics.  My career as an advanced practice provider started first as a family nurse practitioner which led to my pursuit of additional education and training as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Patient-Centered Approach:

My philosophy of care centers around a patient-centered approach, where I collaborate closely with individuals and their families to develop personalized treatment plans. I believe that each person's journey to wellness is unique, and I am committed to tailoring interventions that align with their goals and values. Whether it's through psychotherapy, medication management, or a combination of both, I strive to empower my patients to take an active role in their healthcare decisions.

Advocacy and Education:

In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about advocacy and education in the field of mental health. I aim to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and increase awareness of available resources. Through continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in psychiatric and medical care, I ensure that my patients receive the best evidence-based treatments.
